Crayon et fusain/Pencil and charcoal 40/30 cm (15,7/11,8 in) Back to portrait try. The hardest, the worst. This one is from Peter Lindberg photography. I just spoke about it with my brother.. This guy took so much amazing pictures of people, right in front of them and still subtil.

Crayon/Pencil 40/30 cm (15,7/11,8 in) A few days later, as I can not afford models, I found this wonderful photographies book by Willy Ronnis 'Nudes - to all women'. A tresure of printed models. First one. With the pencil to start from the basis, and built the picture little by little. As I understood something about my needs, I spend time on this one, trying not to miss anything this time. It will need time but it is worth it..

Dessin - Femme en l'air

Image
Huile/Oil 40/30 cm (15,7/11,8 in) This one should be jumping. Well. Finally she just looks like lost somewhere in the air. Weird.  It has been a while I was wondering what to work on.. colors or lines.. After those last few tries, I figured out I needed to work on drawing human beings. Bodies, portraits, postures, movement, anatomy... academic drawing. To start from the beginning finally... Let's go.

Dessin - Femme acroupie

Huile/Oil 40/30 cm (15,7/11,8 in) From a falshion magazine. Drawing on oil was the challenge. Always this question to catch something quickly - and also the risk to miss something so quickly too..!

Peinture 2010 - parapluie

Image
Huile/Oil 50/40 cm (19,7/15,6 in) A storm in Osaka; in September, the typhoon season. On the local 'Champ Elysées', some stairs and a long paving leading to a shrine. I crouched on the ground to take the picture of this red umbrella walking downstairs.

Peinture 2010 - fumeur

Huile/Oil 40/30 cm (11,8/15,7 in)  Without drawing, again. Hands are a terrible challenge. And also how to get the essential? This photography of Kersetsz was already centered like that, this was interesting. Finally, we are always free to center and build a picture. It can help reminding this in the future..!

Peinture 2010 - chanel 2

Gouache  40/30 cm (11,8/15,7 in)  Another try. The first one in fact.

Peinture 2010 - chanel 1

Gouache  40/30 cm (11,8/15,7 in)  A test. From a Chanel advertising photography in a magazine. Challenge was to try something quickly, the movement.. Without drawing. Working quickly to make sure of what works and what does not.Better know my weakness.

Huile/Oil 65/50 cm (25,6/19,6 in) Same period in Boston than the Common park painting. From a picture I took, the view at my friend's window. With the light reflect of their window on the opposite wall. Right after an amazing lunch. A peaceful moment. I started to paint without drawing first. You need small challenges..

Tableau 2008 - Boston Common

Image
Huile/Oil (and bad photo) 80/60 cm (31,5/23 in) Boston Common park at Fall. I leaved the US a couple of weeks after I took this picture, like so many others.. light was really something. Painting it after is like living it again.  It took me some time to think about this pavement with the shadow... Did in 2 times, it looks like 2 worlds in the same painting. Not so stupid after all.
